The Einlagensicherungs- und Treuhandgesellschaft mbH (EIS) is a specialist provider of services in connection with insolvency and liquidation proceedings within the banking sector.

As a service provider it is central to implementation of depositor protection action on the instructions of the German Banks Compensation Scheme (EdB) or on behalf of the Deposit Protection Fund (ESF). In addition EIS staff support insolvency administrators engaged in their task in a number of ways.

The Deposit Protection Company was founded in 1976. It is a one hundred percent subsidiary of the Auditing Association of German Banks with registered office in Cologne.
